Motus FORD KEMPTON PARK has an opportunity available for a CASHIER.
The purpose of this position is to accept payments from customers for repairs, servicing and parts, and to process the payment, providing every customer with a receipt, and ensuring that money received is banked according to standard procedures.
Note: The standard hours of work are 08h00 until 17h00; however, there will be days occasionally when customers need to pay after 17h00 and the expectation is that the cashier will assist until after the last customer has been attended to for the day which at times can be until 17h30. Some flexibility is therefore required.
Position Overview The purpose of this position is to accept payments from customers for repairs, servicing and parts, and to process the payment, providing every customer with a receipt upon leaving the dealership, and ensuring that money received is banked according to standard procedures.
Specific Role Responsibilities Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing of invoices and receipts.
- Accurate capturing of receipts.
- Ensure that all receipts tally up correctly for banking.
- Banking of money
- Banking of previous days takings, credit cards, internet receipts, etc.
- Preparation of relevant reports for FM.
- General cashier administration
- Filing of all documentation.
- Conduct ad hoc administration duties when required.
Qualifications and Experience Experience, Qualification and Skills Requirements:
- 2+ years in an administrative role where accuracy of data capturing is important, and customer interaction is involved. Previous relevant cashier experience will be an advantage, particularly in the motor dealership environment.
- A minimum of Grade 12
- Computer literacy: basic Excel is a minimum requirement.
- Prior experience using Evolve will be an advantage.
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
- Organized and able to remain calm and organized under pressure, when customers are queueing to be assisted etc.
- Able to work fast and accurately, showing attention to detail.
- Customer orientated, friendly and patient.
- A team player.
- Given the nature of the role, handling and working with money etc, an employment track record where honesty and integrity have always been intact is essential.
