Job Description

The purpose of this position is to assist with housekeeping and engineering maintenance activities under instruction from Artisans / Supervisors as well as enable Assistants to be trained and developed to become qualified Engineering Artisans

Duties and Responsibilities

• To successfully complete a structured learnership training programme and must be prepared and willing to train and work at a training centre and metallurgical plant
• Work under the close supervision of qualified Artisans / Engineering Supervisors
• Lift, hold, position and support parts and materials being worked on, manually or with appropriate tools as required

Qualification Requirements

• Minimum Grade 12 with Maths & Science / N2 / NCV Level 4 with relevant subjects:
  • Electricians: Maths, Engineering Science, Industrial Electronics, Electrical trade Theory
  • Fitter including Machining: Maths, Science, Fitter Trade Theory, Engineering Drawing
  • Instrument Mechanician: Maths, Science, Industrial Electronics, Instrument Trade Theory
  • Millwright: N6 / S4 Maths, Science, Fitter Trade Theory, Engineering Drawing, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Trade Theory

• A valid Driver’s Licence will be advantageous

Experience and Skills Requirements

• 1 years’ experience and knowledge within mining industry is preferred
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
• Able to work under pressure
• Able to work as part of a team and individually
• Technical acumen
• English language proficiency
• Time management skills
